The Slaughterhouse Ghouls

There’s nothing pleasant whatsoever about slaughterhouses, though like many abandonments such places can present a compelling subject for ruins photographers. We’ve encountered a couple before on this blog, including a vast Victorian cattle market in Glasgow and even an old abattoir turned urban art canvas. There aren’t many discernible features to separate the slaughterhouse seen here – located in the French city of Nantes on the Loire River –¬†from other derelict industrial ruins, though the abandoned meat scales may offer some clues.
