Photographer Anna S, from Ostfildern in southern Germany, documented this beautiful abandoned church back in April 2015. Any ornate plaster-work that once adorned the walls has long since peeled and fallen, leaving only bare red brick that exposes the grand building’s construction. Despite some debris, the inside appears barren, its pews and other fixtures long since removed. The abandoned church was documented as part of a “Lost Places” visit organised by an urban exploration collective in the area.

In addition, Anna S also photographed a series of other haunting modern ruins, several examples of which are shown below. Among the locations were an empty school and defunct train sitting in an old railway station.
