Lost Theatres: Matt Lambros Launches “After the Final Curtain”

Urban Ghosts is delighted to announce the launch of photographer Matt Lambros’ stunning new website, After the Final Curtain, and accompanying blog.  Collectively, Matt’s photographs rank among the most vivid and evocative images of abandoned theatres, hospitals and other deserted buildings, anywhere on the internet.

Many magnificant modern ruins are well known to urban explorers and have been widely documented both online and offline.  But in many cases Matt’s photographs offer a never-before-seen glimpse into some of the most incredible abandoned theatres and other buildings of New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, like the Orpheum Theatre in New Bedford (above).

Matt’s inspiration and passion for decaying historical buildings stems from childhood, and photographing them has become an ongoing project.  Urban Ghosts has had the opportunity to feature his photography in previous articles, from our report on the forthcoming regeneration of Holyoke’s historic Victory Theatre to the most impressive abandoned theatres of the North Eastern United States.  (Images by Matt Lambros, all rights reserved.  For more information and great photography, be sure to check out Matt’s personal website.)
