Old Fire Tower (Possibly) Repurposed as a Modern House

Adaptive reuse transforms abandoned fire tower into a modern house (Image: Mohylek; this old fire tower may have been repurposed)

In a June 2012 article on WebUrbanist, SA Rogers wrote of this rumoured fire tower house: “Very little information is available, but this spiraling blue fire tower in Poland is purported to be a home. That would be one very long walk to a very small living space, especially when it’s raining, but the views are probably worth it.”

We’re still unsure whether or not the old fire tower is indeed a home, and thus representing a creative and arguably rather daring example of adaptive reuse. But there’s no denying that the view would be spectacular – if indeed the platform’s floor space is limited.

Fan of adaptive reuse? If so, don’t miss these 10 brilliant examples of repurposed buildings and other objects.
