This creepy abandoned house deep in the woods of Hampshire, southern England, was photographed in September 2016. Its history is unknown, though it’s possible the mysterious derelict building once fulfilled a military purpose due to its location close to the army’s former Morn Hill Camp, which was used by American service personnel during the First World War. The army base near Winchester was one of the largest of its kind in the UK. And in 2014, after a wait of 95 years, a memorial was finally unveiled to the soldiers who passed through there. Whether or not the abandoned house in the photograph was a part of the base, there’s no denying that it’s a melancholy and eerie sight to behold, its drab form half concealed by the surrounding trees. Fan or rurex? Don’t miss these abandoned gems across the rural landscape.
