It may not be travel at its most luxurious, but this abandoned train and defunct locomotives in Italy undoubtedly offer a photogenic subject for urban exploration photography. The images were snapped by Italian photographer Fabrizio Cerroni, whose stunning scenes of industrial decay have been featured before on Urban Ghosts.

This photograph, also by Cerroni, was featured as part of a different set, and may reveal the exterior of the abandoned train car and locomotive pictured above. Be sure to check out 20 other disused railway engines, rollingstock and train graveyards in our archives.

This rail carriage looks in amazingly good state to be “abandoned” (no vandalized seats, no trace of homeless persons using it as crash pad, etc.).
Either it lies in a pretty remote location, or it’s just awaiting refurbishment.
