Easter Eggs for Christmas! Travel Website Hides Seasonal Surprises

Elves Workshop (1)

Have you ever wanted to stay in Santa’s Grotto, a manger in Bethlehem or an igloo at the North Pole? Well now you can (sort of!) thanks to Holiday Lettings. The Oxford-based company has added six festive properties to its portfolio to delight discerning website users. And with the Yuletide festivities upon us, we thoughts we’d share a selection with you (follow the links above) – but can you find the others?

Here’s a clue: they include a reindeer stable, an edible gingerbread house and a elves’ workshop.

In addition, Holiday Lettings has hidden a Christmas message on its website. To find it, simply head across to the homepage and type in ‘hohoho’, then share the Christmas cheer with your friends and families via Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.

In Internet Lore

Easter eggs, or hidden messages, have been concealed on websites by developers with a sense of humour and intrigue since the dawn of the internet – and earlier. They’ve also been linked to the Konami code, which originated as a cheat code for video games back in the day and has since become enshrined in pop culture. You can find out more about it on this page. But note, you’ll need to Konami code to access the info. Merry Christmas!
