Abandoned planes and aircraft graveyards are popular subjects of urbex photography, decaying mechanical wonders that reflect an important component of 20th century history. Officially a museum, this Cold War collection of fighter planes and helicopters at Burgas Airport is a hangover from Bulgaria’s membership of the Warsaw Pact, which saw the country operate mainly Soviet aircraft including various models of MiG. ┬áIt’s many years since these examples have seen active service and they now make for some great urban exploring.
