To date Urban Ghosts has featured all manner of forgotten spaces, from abandoned mansions and cottages to crumbling hospitals and insane asylums, but abandoned frat houses are a first for us!  Located in Bethany, West Virginia, this former fraternity house  belongs to Bethany College, which was founded in 1840 and is the oldest higher education institution in the state.

The private liberal arts college’s 1,300 acre campus lies 50 minutes drive from Pittsburgh and was the birthplace of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity in 1858.  In total, five social fraternities and three sororities account for around 40 per cent of the student body.  This grand mansion appears to be in good condition amid well-maintained grounds, meaning it will hopefully one day be occupied again.
