Disused cabooses, like this Union Pacific vehicle abandoned near the Death Valley ghost town of Rhyolite, are not uncommon in America’s Old West. The once important settlement (pictured below) contains a house built out of 50,000 recycled beer bottles, but the only reuse this caboose appears to have seen is as a shelter for local rattlesnakes – a dangerous addition to the list of hazards traditionally faced by urban explorers.
