This reminds me of the story my father told me, of his time in the RCAF as an Air Traffic controller, based in Comox, B.C. A Vulcan bomber came in for a landing and was ordered to go around and land again, this time using the drogue chute to stop. The plane took off, circled around the field and landed beautifully, popping the chute in a wonder ful display. After they rolled to a stop, they radioed back to the tower to ask why they had to do that. My father replied, they came in too quickly the first time and he hadn't had enough time to get his movie camera ready! I hope he can find that film, I remember it even now!

Used to watch them at Waddo! Its never been the same since they've gone. Once upon a time even the government would have considered this an important part of our heritage. Happy days - this Vulcan has to stay flying!
